Identify the Problem:

Condensation on Windows

Homeowners very often experience condensation on their windows. Typically, there are three types of condensations that are related to windows.
Type1:
Condensation on the surface of the glass street side?
This type of condensation indicates a better quality window rather than a defect.
Why does it occur after you replaced the window and possibly did not had it before?
Usually this type of effect happens earlier in the morning and in the warmer season. This is known as morning dew, which sits on the glass until sun rise and then disappears. In the past, the draft of warm air from the inside of the room, warmed the glass and dried out the dew. With a new window that is fully insulated with an argon gas interior, the temperature from inside does not affect the temperature of the exterior glass and the dew will stay till sun raise.
Type2:
Condensation on the surface of the glass inside the house?
This type of condensation could be for a few reasons.
1)    Window covered with shutters, blinds or curtains and air flow from universal boot installed on the floor below window could not reach the surface of the glass.
a)    Solution: open shutters, blinds or curtains fully at least during the daytime.
2)    Universal boot on the floor covered with furniture and airflow can not reach surface of the glass.
a)     Solution: relocate furniture to make sure that air flows directly to the window.
3)    Humidifier set on max humidity and it creates excessive amount of humidity.
a)     Solution: reduce or turn off humidifier as excessive amount of humidity could trigger mold.
4)     Air force not strong enough.
a)     Solution: consider duct cleaning.
Type3:
Condensation between the glass: in this situation most likely the unit has failed and the argon gas escaped. The only solution would be to consider replacing the glass unit or the whole window.

What We’ll Do About it

Once we have determined the problem and whether or not it is a product or an installation defect, we will take one of the following actions:
  • If it’s a product defect, we contact the manufacturers, and get the product replaced. It’s important that we’re notified of the product defect so we can take it up with the manufacturing partner. We ask for replacements for defective parts.
  • If it’s an installation issue, we’ll investigate it and compensate you as required. Please go through our warranties page to find out what constitutes an installation issue. We’ll send an installer down to deal with it.
  • We’ll schedule a visit at a time that’s convenient to you, and service the windows and/or doors at the designated time.
  • We also provide completion certificates for window and/or doors servicing jobs to assure you that we have performed the task satisfactorily. In the event of persisting problems, just give us a call.
