It’s made of two steel panels with CFC-Free polyurethane foam exactly as fiberglass doors.
When you’re shopping for a steel door, please make sure it’s not a hollow metal door while residing in the GTA or anywhere in Ontario.
Hollow doors look exactly as an insulated door, but with very low energy efficiency because it’s not insulated between the panels.
Is it worth it to do a door repair services or should you buy a new door?
It depends on what needs to be repaired or replaced, cost involved with it, and how long the repaired part will last. For example, if you have an old wood frame, it would be more economical in the long run to replace the whole door system.
Another factor reflecting the cost of replacing a door, but not the quality is the finishing of a fiberglass door.
Some of these factors include the painting or staining of the fiberglass exterior doors, based on choice your cost will be anywhere from $400 to $1500 if you decide stain front door over painting it.
Steel door can only be painted but fiberglass doors could be stained or painted. (Photo provided below).
Another question that comes up often with our customer is: Iron doors vs Steel doors.
Iron doors are beautiful and luxury piece for warmer climates.
For Canadian weather we will recommend steel door because slab will be insulated.
